However, it is always good to use any natural ingredient in its raw form. Boiling or processing with heat might lead to loss of some nutrients. However, the smell will be a little less pungent when onion is boiled.

Using Onion Juice

  • Take two to four red onions and grate them finely.
  • Squeeze grated onion and extract the juice
  • Massage the scalp when the juice is fresh
  • Leave the hair for at least 15 Min.or till the onion juice is evaporated
  • Wash the water with mild shampoo or water.
  • Do not use conditioner. Onion can help you condition your hair.

You can also use the water boiled with onion for similar use. This will save you the trouble of grating and squeezing the onion.

  • Take 4-5 onions and cut into large pieces. (may 4 parts)
  • Boil about a liter of water and add the onion pieces to the boiling water
  • Keep in slow flame and let the water reduce to about 500 to 600 ml.
  • Let the water cool in itself before straining the water
  • Apply the water left over on the scalp and leave it for about one hour. Best results can be achieved if this is left overnight. However, the pungent smell will be all over your home.

Use only mild shampoo for cleansing the hair after this. Repeat this once in a week and see the results. If you are a mom and helping your child’s hair growth, then you may need to go through some tantrums around. But i can assure that this is worth the trouble for hair growth.

Sandalwood Face pack

Sandalwood is very good for face packs to get rid of many ailments and improving brightness and glow of the skin.

Add equal amount of sandalwood powder with almond powder and mix thoroughly with some milk up to the consistency of a paste.Apply this paste to the face and leave it for drying. Rinse with cold water.

You can see the skin smoothing and improved glow.

Lotus face pack:
Take few petals from a fresh lotus.and two table spoons of honey and equal amount of milk.Grind all of them together to make a thick paste.

Apply this paste as a face pack once in a week u can see the glowing skin this will also help in improve the fairness of the skin.

Orange face pack:
Citrus fruits can give u excellent results to improve the fairness of the face.Orange peals is dried and powder. It.It is prepared into a paste by adding small amount of milk.Apply this paste to face and leave it for drying.rinse thoroughly with cold water.

Strawberries are made into small pieces and applied to the face after 15min rise your face with cold water. Stawberry face pack helps your skin to brighten and keeps you look beautiful.

 

Stress and Tips for relief from Stress – Healthy life style

Stress is the reason for most of the ailments in recent times. This has been one of the major reasons for abnormal medical conditions both Physical and also Mental. Stress can be a cause or reason for simple headache to even major health disorders such as heart disease or auto immune diseases like psoriasis etc. Stress also causes aggravation of the existing diseases. The most commonly heard advise is relax. There are number of methods to get yourself some relaxation. Some of them are listed here.

Sleep – In a stressful condition, the first causality is  lack of sleep or disturbed sleep. Sleep disorders are a cause for stress too. However, there are carvings for sleep due to the nature of human body. It could be a quick nap after lunch or a similar condition. Use this body carving to get some relaxation.

Exercise – Exercise gives great help in relieving stress. Make exercise a routine of the day and you can find this benefit very easily. If you can do some yoga, you can see some direct reduction in the stress levels. there are few yoga Asanas which are specifically meant for stress relief (Balasana, Savasana, Uthanasana etc..)( I will add a new post on this subject)

Shower- Shower with some hot water relieves stress to large extent and gives immediate relief. Alternatively a bath in flowing water such as a river etc are good.

Meditate –  Meditation is a great way to relieve stress. There are many techniques for meditation. Chant some mantras if you can recite.

Divert –  There are few stress busters like music or book reading which basically divert you from he stress causing feelings. Avoid crime or suspense kind of books or very fast music. Instrumental music is best.

Make a new hobby –  This actually helps me. I tried to learn astrology which has made me getting back to normal in few stress conditions. This is actually gives you best of both worlds. You gain knowledge and also feel better.

Child Cough – Tips to cure using home remedies

It is tough to see the child coughing. When cough effects the children the effect is more compared to adults. Most of the time, this is severe when the child is sleeping, leaving the child sleepless and also week. Here are few tips for getting rid of child cough using natural remedies.

Honey  – Honey has some great anti-Honeyoxydents and Microbe fighting abilities. One spoon of Honey before going to bed gives good relief to the child and they will be able to sleep.This is in fact proven by the researchers too. However they advise not to give honey to children below the age of 12 months (1 Year)

 

Steam – Inhaling steam will sooth most of the problems associated with nose and also those associated with throat. This can be given to all ages of children. The best is to use the steamer used for steaming the face. However, care shall be taken to ensure, there is a gap between the bouts of steam inhalation.

Luke warm to hot  Water  – This is my personal favorite. As soon as the symptoms are seen, stop giving cold or normal water to the child. This is a simple and gives quickest relief. Also this helps to soothe the throat which gives a little pain due to cough. Most of the dry coughs can be cured just by using this method. Best relief if seen if the water is given number of times in small quantities.

Gargling – Gargling is one of the good method to soothe the throat. add a pinch of salt to the lukewarm to hot water and get the child to gargle atleast 2-3 times a day. Generally, this is good with older children, who can understand. This will give immediate relief from some of the most painful coughs.

Get rid of the Phlegm – If there is phlegm associated with the cough, encourage the child to spit the phlegm instead of gulping it back. This needs a little training to the child. Most of the time the children do not know and swallow it back.

Ginger – Tough to get this done by a child. Keep a small piece of raw ginger and

Using these medicines and the tips, you can see a great relief for the child.

Caution – Since the child is most precious of the family, make sure that you see a doctor as soon as possible. Some times cough is a symptom of another disease.

Beauty tips for a healthy and good looking face

There are some very good items in the kitchen, which can be used to increase the glow on the face. These are Natural and easily available. You need not visit the parlor if you use these techniques. Some of them can be quickly applied. the best part is absence of harmful chemicals which will do a permanent damage to the skin.  Few of these tips collected for a healthy and good looking face from here and there and also used by me are below

Oiliness of the face

  • Take one spoon of Basan (Sanaga Pindi), a pinch of Pasupu (turmeric), Pinch of Kapuram, little bit of salt. Mix them along with 2-3 drops of Coconut Oil or Olive Oil or sesame Oil. Apply this as a face pace and clean up after 10 min.
  • Add a spoon of Lime Juice with little Raw salt and apply on the face. clean up after 20 min.
  • Rub the face with the Bitter Gourd skin to clean up Oiliness. This will help clearing the black heads and also pimples
  • Keep a few leave of rose plant in water and leave it overnight.Wash the face with this water in the morning. This will clear oiliness of the face.

Loose skin or folds in the face

  • Take a spoon of curd, one spoon honey and the egg (white portion). Mix them thouroughly and apply on the face. Clean up after drying.
  • Take 5 spoons of greated Carrot  and  grind with 2 spoons of milk. Apply this as a face pack. This will tighten the skin

Others

  • Add a spoon each of Almond Powder, Besan. Mix them with a spoon of Milk and few drops of lemon juice. Apply this mixture on the face and massage well. this will clean up the hair growth on the face.
  • Take 5 spoons of Orange Juice, one spoon of cream and one spoon of Lime Juice. Mix thoroughly and massage on the face. this will increase the glow of the face
  • Take the Juice of about 10-12 Tulasi Leaves and mix this with one spoon of Lemon Juice. Apply this on the face. clean up after drying. You will not see even one pimple if this is used.
  • To clean up the Pimple scars, take equal amounts of radish juice and curd. Mix thoroughly and apply on the skin. This is slow, but surely helps.
  • To have a clear face, drink tender coconut water with lemon Juice on empty stomach.
  • Take Two table spoon of Banana and and one spoon of tomato juice. Mix thoroughly and apply as a face pack. this can be used for instant glow. clean up after 20 min.

The Humble Snake gourd Juice can be used effectively to cure dandruff. Gently massage the Juice on to the Scalp and leave it for about 30 minutes. Wash of with a mild shampoo.

  1. Try Apple Juice

Apple Juice without any preservatives also is an effective solution to cure dandruff. Apple contains some enzymes to vitalize the skin.

  1. Lemon and Garlic Mixed Juice.
